I need a Futurama icon
Last night I decided to try writing some Futurama characters. But I also wanted to go on about about the fan timeline I made up for it. So I did both, but got stuck before I could go into much detail. I'm really sick of this writer's block.

I guess I'll put up what I wrote. It's just practice, which is why I'm not trying to fix the problems I can see with it. And it's a bit OOC as well because I'm still getting a feel for the characters.

I think that's enough to show that this isn't a polished final draft )

I wanted to add stuff about the power struggles between the historical re-enacters and the gritty survivalists, but like I said, I got stuck. But trust me, it was hilarious.

I'm tired.

So it's all come down to this. A dungeon... and dragons.
So the day before yesterday I was listening to the Dragonforce CD I bought last week and drawing Futurama characters. And now Dragonforce reminds me of Futurama, which is an awesome association if you ask me. Dragonforce now also reminds me of the smell of rubbers, or erasers if you're American, but I got it right eventually. And that's how I found out that even Bender has an overbite.

Since I've been talking about Futurama nonstop lately, I guess I should mention something else. Um... Sonic's final smash in SSBB is awesome. Unless you're my brother, in which case it's "cheap". I play as Sonic as much as I can. Partly this is because, although I've always been more of a Nintendo person, Sonic the Hedgehog for the Master System is the first platformer I ever played, at after-school care in primary school. Playing as Sonic, on the Green Hill Zone stage, with the Green Hill Zone music playing just transports me back to when I was seven, and since I'm big on nostalgia, I like that. But the main reason I like to play as him is because I like his final smash so much. Who wouldn't want to fly around as a superfast gold hedgehog, dealing a lot of damage to your foes whenever you touch them? A lot of people, I'm sure, but not me.

And the stage builder is addictive. So far I've made a stage that's almost entirely composed of springers, a stage that's totally closed in and impossible to KO anyone from, and a stage with a roof as low as I can make it. I made a bunch of others too, but I don't feel like mentioning them.

If I'd known that [info]fandomsecrets would be doing a friending meme today, I would've posted something other than a boring dream whose only exceptional part is the end. Got to look good for... Oh, nobody reads page eleven anyway. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm onto page ten.

I never realised how stale writing Homestar Runner fanfiction had become until the floodgates opened for Futurama story ideas.

Dream logs wait for nothing, not even extreme apathy and possession of Super Smash Brothers Brawl! Why can't I just use my private dream log? I don't know.

So it was about Futurama, which is understandable considering how obsessed in the mundane sense I am with it right now. Normally when I get obsessed with something I like, thinking about it makes me really happy, and I can't stop thinking about it, but I guess since I already did that with Futurama, it can't happen again. Pity.

Anyway, the Planet Express employees and their relatives were going somewhere on holiday. Fry, Leela and Bender were being treated as children for reasons that were unclear but were probably something like "because it's funny". Farnsworth had this huge van with a lot of room in the back that Fry, Leela and Bender were in initially, but then he got annoyed over something and kicked Leela and Bender out, preferring to drive only with people with orange hair. By which I mean Fry and Cubert. Fry had to be strapped in really tightly, because he objected to spending a long trip stuck with a senile old man and an obnoxious know-it-all. Cubert thought this was hilarious.

The Futurama component to my dream decreased when they arrived at their destination, which turned out to be the National Folk Festival of Australia. I went with Cubert to look at books. They had a Terry Pratchett book I'd never heard of, which is unlikely, which was published during 2003, the year I was obsessed with his works, making it very unlikely that I wouldn't have heard of it. It was originally one of Discworld's Tiffany Aching books, where they go to the sea for some reason, but then my brain backpedalled or something and it became a non-Discworld story in the tradition of Truckers, Diggers and the other Johnny Maxwell books. I'm fully aware that Truckers and Diggers are not Johnny Maxwell books, I'm just repeating what I remember.

The whole time I'd known that I was dreaming, which is pretty common lately, but as usual hadn't taken advantage of this. But at this point in my dream, I finally remembered that I'd always wanted to have a lucid dream, and started fulfilling one of my wishes. Approximately one second later, I dreamed that I'd woken up, and didn't dream of anything else until I'd really woken up.

I think my subconscious hates me or something.

Amazing Thing, Amazing Thing, Amazing Thing
So last night I downloaded half the new Futurama movie, the Beast With a Billion Backs, and read a plot summary of the rest. I was frustrated about how slowly it was loading and I wasn't in the best of moods, and I think those things had an effect on me not liking it as much as Bender's Big Score. I'll see how I feel when I buy it in August. There's a couple of things regarding the movie I would like to mention because they freaked me out.

Cut for spoilers )

The last thing I wanted to mention has nothing to do with Futurama. The fanstuff wiki's going to be deleted, with the best around 100 fanstuffs being carried over to a new fanstuff wiki. It's kind of drastic, but probably necessary by this point. All the stuff I want to keep will probably stay online, because apparently I'm talented by their standards.
